Personal dictionaries are in the calibre configuration folder they get written to as words are added.

Have you done any keyboard shortcut customisations ?

By default the editor would quit without saving if you typed Ctrl+Q, Alt+Q.

Because I use Ctrl+Shift+Q globally for WordWeb, I null Ctrl+Q for Quit, and use Alt+Space, C instead.
