A wonderfully complicated plot (just the thing for a serial) sees Scotland Yard, the Home Office, a Barrister, an assortment of hoodlums, and several other devious characters in a twisting narrative.
The resolution of the plot involves Grays Manor, a totally derelict ruin in the Surrey countryside, and a shoot-out with a Chicago gangster.
