I had a bit of an issue syncing audible books with my iPhone. The solution was to de-authorize the computer with audible, then re-authorize.

As I mentioned earlier, rather than the syncing by playlist which was part of iTunes sync, you have to select each audio book individually. I have a couple of collections - "car upnext" and "car unread" that I maintain. They were playlist in iTunes, now they are collections in books. The "car upnext" has a select of 5 or 6 books that I am either currently listening to or want to listen to next. 5 or 6 is the number of audiobooks that fit on the screen at one time on my car's entertainment screen via CarPlay. "car unread" is simply a collection of audio books I haven't listened to yet. It's much bigger.

Since I can't sync by collection, that means I have to scroll through the alphabetic list of all my audio books to make sure I have the audiobooks from the two collections selected. That's a pain when you have 700+ audiobooks.
