Walmart's return policy is usually 90 days. Electronics are an exception at 15 days then you're directed to the vendor's support unless you go for Walmart's extended coverage plan. As noted, the start of this 15 day period is deferred during the winter holidays so that gift recipients aren's screwed (and Walmart aren't sued to Hell and back for violating consumer protection laws).

The extended coverage plan is pretty straight-forward. It works like an insurance plan because, well, it is an insurance plan backed by Allstate. More information here.

NB: I got the 3-year plan with my... third? fourth? depends on how you count... Forma because my service experience with Kobo Customer "Care" was one of the worst, if not the worst, I've ever had.
