True there were page numbers. BUT, they did not say ppp of nnn. You had to find the real end page (before all those pesky ads  ) and REMEMBER IT.

And that worked because with paper, the thickness gives you an indication of length.
With ebooks, what are you applying the % too? I'm 10% thru an ebook; but 10% of what: 10 "pages", 100 pages, 1000 pages?
Percent and bar graphs are nice, but I want to know what they represent, otherwise they aren't too usefull, to me.
