Calibre 4 book viewer performance - My $0.02

Hi,

Lots of comments on this so I'll try and keep it brief. The performance of the ebook viewer for me and my workflow is sub-optimal. I estimate there is around an additional ten second delay opening each book for the first time on top of how long it would take in 3.48.

The trouble is, I open each of my books at least once, but typically not much more than that. As far as I have seen the new viewer offers negligible benefit to me to outweigh a fairly large drop in performance.

Not a moan, just some constructive (I hope) feedback. Perfectly happy at the moment to go back to 3.48 should I feel the need. Just wanted to point out a use case that for me takes some of the sheen off an excellent project, to which I am proud to say I have donated

Then again, given https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...34&postcount=1, it may just be me!
