New on the left, old on right (scroll bar) with controls hidden (Ctrl+F11)

And when they were shown, the controls didn't obscure the text.

I'm not being critical, but I don't see how the new viewer has a cleaner user interface, just a different one. And it's dropped a couple of features Print to PDF and support for cover-free books.
