Amazon, random $5 credit based on previous purchase?

Last night I got an email from Amazon titled: "Here's a $5 credit toward titles by Leo Tolstoy"

The body of the message says it is based on my purchase of the Signet Classics edition of War and Peace.

The credit is very limited. The three books it will apply to are:
War and Peace: Translated by Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky (Vintage Classics) MSRP $14.99, War and Peace (Modern Library Classics) MSRP $14.99 and Anna Karenina (Modern Library Classics) MSRP $11.99.

The selection is too limited. Two out of three are alternate translations of the book that sparked the credit. I likely won't purchase any of them. But I am wondering if anyone else had strange credit offers from Amazon pop-up like that?
