I love the wild weather, though I'm glad Hamish didn't cross the coast as I've no equivalent love for a cabriolet house. The beach will be repaired (I predict by about April...or whenever school holidays coincides with the next local event, like Food Week or somesuch). They pump the sand from the north end of the beach, near the rivermouth, back up to and along Main Beach. Last year they even 'dozed sand loosely over the rocks, which looked nice but probably lead to a few twisted ankles.
You can see where the pumping happens in this photo at Panoramio:
The hole's not normally like this - it's normally just a 10 metre wide, surf-washed "pond" with a warning sign-buoy floating in it telling the people that are swimming in it to not swim in it.
We're now back to occasional showers, and seeing glimpses of sun, though it
looks like it might deteriorate to rain again. Still, outlook today and the next few days is 26C, 27C, 28C and 29C, so I'm not complaining.
Cheers,
Marc
