Funny thing is? Your double-plus-counter-argument-rebuttal-whatever is an argument for doing away with page number displays entirely.

ebooks don't have pages. Page number displays are an artifact of skeuomorphic UI design. They're misguided attempts at making ebooks behave just like physical books when we all know the greatest benefits of ebooks is how they don't behave just like physical books.
