The only risk is if you don't want the firmware version that is being rolled out. Choosing one of the later affiliates means you aren't a crash test dummy  And in cases of unusually fast releases, you might bypass the earlier versions.

Yeah, that's what I imagined too, they might be testing it before broadly deploying it. I guess I'll wait until it's properly released, maybe Calibre will have been updated by then too to support the new features.
