And from your first post, I haven't seen anything like that except where the book was very badly constructed, or the database was corrupted badly. What you have done should have fixed the latter. And, unless the books all came from the same publisher or author, I wouldn't have expected there to be problems like for a set of books like this.
It might help to know what the books are. We might be able to see an issue with them. But, try the manual factory first. Hopefully that will solve it.

As per what I said in my OP and my previous post I have done a factory reset. I go in to settings, press reset and the kobo resets and restarts. The firmware is up to date.
