Eh - when I installed version 3.99. 32bit I was disappointed that none of my existing viewer settings (e.g. colors) were 'migrated' - I sighed, shrugged, and moved on. If they should have been migrated, then one reason I can think of why they might not have been, is that my configuration is not in the default location; it is in the location referenced by CALIBRE_CONFIG_DIRECTORY.
You might recall I had a loss of window size issue when switching between 3.47 and 3.99 - see post
#18. Given the fact that my settings were not migrated, and I had the Qt induced window size problem, I uninstalled the 32bit version and installed a fresh portable.
But all that's largely irrelevant, but the loss of keyboard functionality after using search is very relevant. It's just the Search Tool that does that - and maybe the Error popup. Using the ToC or Lookup tools
does not lead to loss of keyboard functionality.
A couple of general points.
Why doesn't the viewer have a regular context menu - including normal keyboard pop (e.g Menu-Key and Shift+F10) and keyboard navigability. I really don't see what advantage an irregular 2 column table, which can only navigated via mouse buttons, has over a vertical list that can be accessed and navigated via mouse buttons
or the keyboard like every other application I have - including 4 browsers, and many WTL, WPF, and UWP applications - and the calibre library manager of course.
Would it be possible to have an option to not show a false cover if there isn't real one - it's really off-putting to open a book or hit Ctrl+Home and be presented with something that doesn't exist. Happy to raise a request post release.
