I guess no one else has encountered this error. The restart of the Kindle 10th Gen. seems to have taken care of the issue as I've had no other occurrences since.
On another question, is anyone else having the battery discharge fairly rapidly. My will discharge down to about 30% in three days with about 3 hours/day of reading. The light is usually set between 15 and 20. That seems rather fast to discharge on a brand new Kindle. However, I've never owned a PW or Oasis long enough to compare them by. I tried several PW Gen. 1's and a couple Gen. 2's way back when they first came out, but ended up returning them due to the screen shadow issue on the earlier models. So maybe this a normal discharge rate.
Over all a pretty good Kindle as far as eInk goes, especially for the $65 price I purchased it at. The light layer still needs to be improved and they should be using non-blue LEDs on all of their light models, and should have been doing that since 2012 IMO. But at least the shadowy blobs are no longer an issue. I still much prefer my smartphone and tablet for indoor reading though. I can read twice as long on them before my eyes go out. The one noticeable difference compared to reading on a smartphone or tablet is that the Kindle 10th Gen. is painfully slow. While reading that isn't too much of an issue. However it does become annoying when I try to highlight text or look up a word.
