I'm actually looking through the Kindle US monthly mystery deals before the last day of the month, which is sort of astounding for me

.
I was surprised to see
Night Game, by Alison Gordon, on the very last page (i.e. least "featured") of the deals - both because I really liked all of the books in this series, and because it's a little weird to see a "big publisher" book on the last page, after a bunch of other more dubious stuff. Sigh!
Anyway, I quite liked Gordon's short five-book Kate Henry series back in DTB days, and wish she would have written more. IMS, Gordon was herself a sportswriter, and I really liked her protagonist, Kate Henry, who reports on the fictional Toronto Titans while solving baseball-related crimes (and dealing with a good bit of misogyny as an early female sports reporter).
And I also really liked the title of the first book in the series,
The Dead Pull Hitter, which is a marvelous pun IMO, is on my list of all-time great mystery titles, and is at $0.99 long-term if you want to try the first in the series.
And finally, there is a five-book bundle of all of the titles regularly priced at $9.99, which is not bad considering that, even with titles 1 and 3 at $0.99, the fifth title alone is also $9.99.
