Books and shelves are indeed one of the most inconspicuous and elegant ways to improve room acoustics.

Since getting an ereader I only read ebooks, but I do like my house to show what my interests are so I still like to have books on the wall. The only pbooks I consider buying now though are graphic novels and second hand books of my favorite titles.
