I wrote a rather lengthy reply but the log-in monster ate it.....
So, short reply....if you want an app that will play a playlist of non DRMed audiobooks in order, moves to the next book automatically, will fast forward and rewind in 30 second incriments, "usually" remembers where you stopped listening, plays up to 3 X normal speed, supports carplay and has an in app tag editor - the only app I've found is evermusic pro. I've tried lots of apps trying to get back to the wonderful playlist features of the music app from ios 7.1 and with a lot of trial and error this app has come the closest. If you decide to try it, my best suggestion is to not use itunes to transfer your files. I copied my books to my personal cloud and downlowed them in the app from there then created the playlist in the app on the phone. YouTube may have other/better suggestions but that worked for me. I finally have my 60+ audiobood series playlist running on an ios 11 device with the features I loved in ios 7.1.
