Sometimes you get what you wish for! Last night I decided to pull a book off my TBR pile under the theory that I wanted one that I would be able to get into fairly quickly, which seemed a possibility from the Audible sample of Jane Harris' The Observations. Within minutes I was dreading that there was "only" 15 hours left of the book. Bessie, the young Irish maid, is hilarious in describing the new world around her, with the voice of her upper-class English employer, Arabella, an excellent counterpoint. Usually, authors readng their own stuff doesn't tend to work out well, but in this case it's a terrific listen!
