For the most part, I've bought digital downloads of most of the movies that I really want to watch and are available. Not that much different than music. I have some music that I've owned as a record, a cd and a mp3. Heck, I even have one favored album that I've owned as a record, an 8 track, a cd and a mp3. For movies, I have favorite movies I've owned as a VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download. Same for books. Not really so much to support the artist as it is to have the work in a format that is convenient for me.
