those screens are the DEFAULTs to be used when first attaching a device.
Once the device has been attached, a COPY is stored in the preferences folder and does not get updated from a default.
IF you connect a device, right click the DEVICE VIEW Icon: configure the device. That is where yo make changes to existing device settings
