The Kindle is a great device, but Kindle users make up only a fraction of ebook readers out there.
And if it is not crippled with Digital Rights Management (DRM) then several readers (including the Kindle & Kindle 2) can read the .PRC or .MOBI file directly. Those that cannot, will be able to easily convert it to another format they can read easily, thus further expanding your potential audience.
