As a recent purchaser of the 505, who had not seen one in the flesh before buying, I have to say when I first used it I was a little disappointed with the greyness of the 'paper'. Having been used to white high contrast reading on my laptop.

I have very quickly changed my mind, having previously suffered quite bad eye strain from LCD, even to a lesser degree with pbooks. So far no matter what the lighting conditions the eink screen has not caused any problems. ( I found it impossible to read a paperback in bright sunlight but with the 505 it is no problem)

If Sony had made the silver case a little darker the screen may have been perceived as whiter. What do you guy's with the darker cases feel?
