Yeah, I know about that high-priced cat food. But heck, it's a very small price to pay. Sadly, his kidneys never recovered. But he did have a good life that last year, and was quite cheerful until the very end. This from the cat who swallowed 20 of those yellow earplugs (I worked graveyard). Unfortunately, he only coughed up 19 of them.
I have no idea why he thought they were so yummy, but he clearly did. All the other cats thought they were cat toys to bat around.
Then, about a year later, he apparently found one of those rubber feet that some appliances have, and tried that out. Yup, back in to the vet for another abdominal surgery. All in, it was over $4k. We used to laugh that the vet should name their new wing after him. She laughed and said she should just install velcro.
