Kindle won't show unlock screen even after resetting

So my Kindle started being weird and when I press the button the unlock screen keypad won't show up. I tried hard resetting and it resets but the same issue happens. I've waited until the battery died and plugged it in, but alas the same issue occurs. I've hard reset it so many times but then the 'your Kindle needs repair' message came. I've seen a post on reddit from a couple years ago that mentioned going in the root directory to restore the Kindle but since I can't unlock it I can't access the system files on my computer. Is there a way to use the command prompt to factory restore it since I can't access the files? Anyone have this issue successfully solve it?

Thank you!
