Sounds a little bit like what Stephen King did with Desperation and The Regulators.

I'm not a Heinlein fan and the book doesn't sound that interesting to me. But I backed it anyway. It's a lost book by a legendary author. How could you be a sci-fi fan and not want to see it published?
