I'm looking for something along the same lines that can display my IT books (from PDF). I've downloaded the sony library tool and the preview looks good but I cant find out for sure if its how it would actually look on the device (PRS 700).

Did you decide which device to go for? And can anyone comment on if the attached file is an accurate represenation of how it might look on the PRS-700?
