Sadly there are a few devices which cause a crash in the WPD driver in calibre, I have never been able to replicate so cannot fix. Your choices are either:

1) Try resetting the device and then rebootingthe computer
2) Use one ofthe wireless connection methods described here https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq...kindle-fire-hd
