Oh, that's painful. There's no justification for that pronunciation. No matter how you construe "CorpSe" (and I'd go with "corpse" myself), you can't have that last syllable be anything but corps.

I listened to Campbell Scott read Oryx and Crake, but I can't remember how he pronounced it.
