Question I'm Confused!

Hello, all:

For Davidfor: I am confused how your suggestion: "Signing out of the Kobo account on the device and back in would have fixed it without needing to resend the books to the device" would have any effect. On the Kobo, I don't have Wi-Fi turned on except when I am attempting to update the operating system. I connect it to Calibre by a cable. Plus, the latest book to give me the problem I downloaded from Amazon (Free) into a folder on this tablet, I then added the book to Calibre (which does know the S/N of my Kindle), converted it to epub from mobi in Calibre, and then downloaded it to my Kobo Clara HD.

When I was reading the book and had the problem, however, the Kobo was stand-alone!
