Ruth Ware's latest suspense novel, The Turn of the Key, has some amusing scenes where a new nanny in a smart home is frustrated by trying to figure out how to operate lights, music, doors, etc. by voice control after minimal instruction.

(My own home is still quite dumb, and that's how I like it.)
