I know on the jailbreaking front, we have to be careful about connecting to wifi since once the device updates, it's typically game over.

I recently purchased the 10th gen Kindle, and it started updating a few minutes after I got it connected to WiFi. Never had that happen before, but I haven’t bought a new one for awhile so this could just be that there were serious problems to fix on day 0, given lead time to produce and ship devices for the launch. Or maybe it is a tactic to discourage jail breaking.
