Hi, @kovidgoyal.

It happens with every book here. As far as I can remember, it has always been like that.

My system: Windows 10 x64 1903, calibre 3.46, any epub file.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Close all files, then open 'fileA.xhtml'.
2) Click on a link in this file pointing to 'fileB.xhtml#someID'.
3) Calibre opens 'fileB.xhtml' and places the cursor on 'someID' on the code window, but the preview window always show the top of the file.
4) If you click inside the code window, then the preview syncs again.

On step 1), if you let 'fileB.xhtml' open, then it works perfectly. The problem is when the editor has to open the file and sync to a given location at the same time.
