I have the anniversary edition Max 2 (white colour) and it has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage. It was released in October 2018. I purchased it in Europe via ereader store (based in Germany). On Amazon Germany I saw some units of Max 2 (black colour) with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage available for purchase around June 2019.
So not all Max 2 models have 2 GB of RAM. What is confusing is that the company didnt change the model number!! The box I had said it was Max 2 Pro, and people and even some Onyx salespeople said no its not called Max 2 Pro. Very confusing indeed!! From my personal experience of both Max 2 (with 2 GB RAM) vs Max 2 (4 GB RAM) there is a significant difference in the performance, but it depends on the type of usage.

Maybe for a future Max3 or a RAM incresed version of the Nova
