I have ones much smaller than that. I'd be worried that the big magnet that she's using might damage it if you weren't always careful when closing the cover. The small ones that I have are about the size of a grain of rice or uncooked spaghetti noodle that's been thinly sliced. And which is what they're no doubt using; rare earth (neodymium) magnets,
very strong. Do a web search and you'll find merchants for them.
For the amusement for a while I had three larger ones (about the diameter of my baby finger) holding a cast iron frying pan on the door of my refrigerator.
