I have been looking on Amazon for a third party case and many of the reviewers say that the sleep/wake function doesn’t work on the newest Oasis; even though the manufacturer’s description states that it does. I will wait until more options are available.
I don't like to spend a lot of money on cases either. I enjoy them quite a bit and spend a while deciding on a design, but I tend to fold then when reading and that can make them last a little less. I like the cheap designs with the artwork options and enjoy switching them out. When something happens to the device, such as age or replacement, the expensive cover becomes a moot point as it's stored away, which bugs me. I like the idea of investing the money into a sleeve that you can drop the kindle in, cheap cover and all, at least that way it can work with any future device you own too.
