@Ghordain - that log indicates the convert had a memory related error, which are usually caused by not enough memory.

In your first post you wrote "I have been trying to convert EPUB files to PDF for splitting and using for research". Maybe there's no need to convert to PDF, have a look at the ePub_Split plugin ==>> Index of plugins
