I don't know which bits of B&N show a profit but I've always wondered about the toy stores taking up 20% the floor space in our remaining local one. And the CD/DVD store also taking up maybe 15%. The bookstore could be a lot smaller if those are not profitable sections.
Not sure how many people would go to a bookstore to buy toys anyway, though I think they were trying to capitalize on the gap left by the closure of most physical toy stores. But don't most parents buy toys online? And CD/DVD sales can't be very good any more.
