It was a warm day, 28C, so a bit lower than predicted by some. Unlike normally in the Netherlands when it's hot it was a dry heat, so a lot easier to deal with than the normal humidity.
For the next couple of weeks rain is a possibility almost every day. So now the newspapers/website are moaning that August will be bad because of the rain. Last week they were reporting that the water shortages in part of the country were still a problem, a year after the very dry summer.
I don't mind the rain much. Sure, I would like it to rain during the night and have pleasant sunny day. But you can't have everything.
