Ah, actually you should know I'm not that new!
Anyway, no the problem was the opposite: it WAS in airplane mode!

I decided to let the kid play over the internet for a few minutes, it did what it had to do, and now cpu consumption is at 5% with some spikes from time to time.
I don't know if 5-10% is okay, but it's way less than before.
Also, showlog shows no more complaints about not getting fun time on the Internet, so I am guessing it's okay....
