So I made the same jump. Voyage to Oasis 3.
I am aware of everyone's love of the contrast of the Voyage, unfortunately I traded it in and had to send it back before the new device arrived so I can't compare them side by side, but I will say that the contrast of the Oasis 3 does not immediately jump out at me in any way. Someone else would have to compare in person to say if it was better/worse and by how much, but I certainly find no problems with it.
As to the lighting, the Oasis 3 is far more uniform, it's the most uniform lighting I've seen. My Voyage had a pretty harsh gradient from top to bottom (as you got closer to the lights) and there were minor light cones on the bottom. This gradient never bothered me as it was subtle as you read down the page, but it was completely obvious if you just glanced over the screen looking for it. The Oasis 3 is not 100% uniform as I can nitpick and detect a few spots that appear ever so slightly darker here and there, but only in a dark room with the lights turned up.
I also thought I'd probably end up just using the inverted mode, so I wasn't sure about the warm light and almost just got a discounted KOA2, but I'm glad I went for the 3. I actually keep the warm light on about 12 at all times as it makes the screen look so much more like actual paper. Now when I turn the warm light off, it reveals just how cool/blue/white the normal lights actually are, it's kinda crazy.
Feel free to write this off as someone still smitten with their brand new toy, but all those things, plus the larger screen is an absolute win for me. I loved my Voyage and easily could've still used it without issue, I had previously tried to upgrade to the Oasis 1 and hated it (mostly screen lighting issues), but this time the upgrade was well worth it.
