I'd guess the book was created before the javascript flaw was revealed, and no one there remembered to go back and fix it. It doesn't make them evil, just human. If you're going to give zero tolerance to everyone's goofs, it's going to be a lonely world.
Anyway, make sure you tell them about the JS problem, too. And cut these vendors some slack, guys... after all, they didn't have to bother giving consumers free
anything.
