The latest Kindle firmware release (5.12.1) contains some strings related to the new amber light feature:

Schedule the front light to automatically shift between cool white and warm amber.

Warmth Schedule
We'll use your device's location to change warmth with sunrise and sunset to provide a comfortable reading experience. You can change this behavior anytime by selecting "Manual" or turning off the schedule. Location access requires internet connection.

When the schedule is enabled, warm amber will be added to the front light until scheduled warmth ends.

Customize the amount of warmth for the scheduled time. Press and hold on the level desired to preview warmth.
It apparently uses your IP address to estimate your location. The longitude and latitude are needed in order to create the schedule based on sunrise and sunset.
