I think Sheri Cobb South started as a romance author, with some traditionally published romances. In any case, once upon a time, at some used bookstore or other, I picked up a DTB of South's In Milady's Chamber, which is the first in her John Pickett historical mystery series. Although it reads almost as much like a romance as like a mystery, I enjoyed it. (Full disclosure: I do read some romances from time-to-time too...)

Chamber is now free at both Kindle and Kobo US, and I'll get to get another book off my shelves - woo-hoo!
