The Red Church by Scott Nicholson is $0.99 at Amazon US.

I bought the book when it was published as a paperback original by Pinnacle back in 2002. This is Scott's first novel, and it does show. but I enjoyed the book.

Quote:
Stoker Award finalist with more than 100,000 copies sold, from the international bestselling author of McFALL and Drummer Boy. A boy and a sheriff must solve the mystery of a haunted Appalachian church when a strange preacher returns to town.
I have a fondness for the original Pinnacle cover (mine has a quote from Bentley Little, which is what convinced me to buy it).
