As @Tarana points out, there are two McBain titles currently at $0.99, which makes their Whispersync deals work out to be $2.98 total.

The Ed McBain series apparently has been around for a long time; I am glad to know that Ed McBain titles are still in demand.

Why? I used to run a used book business, and had purchased a huge amount of used books by the time that I was forced to cease business (long story). I'm donating the unsold inventory to my local library, and to just about any charity, too, which has a thrift store from which they sell donations, just about as fast as those places will take them. Among the books are a huge number of mass market paperbacks in the Ed McBain series.

I almost can't stand to throw away a book, or see one thrown away. I knew that the series was old, and I had wondered wondered, many times, if the library and charities have tossed them straight in the garbage after getting them from me. Now I have hope that the library is actually able to use them--preferably on their shelves but, if not, at least in their little used book sale room. Maybe the charities will be able to sell them, too.
