That isn't a problem with the plugin. It is a problem that the driver is detecting. It could mean that the database has become corrupted very badly, but, your other statements suggest it isn't being detected by the computer properly. I see a similar issue with one of my devices. It is very fussy about the cable used and can disconnect while being used. If I reconnect after this, it won't work. Restarting the device can fix it, but it can leave the USB port in a non-working state. Sometimes another USB port will work, but, eventually, I have to reboot the PC to get the port working properly.
