I’m in the US, and ordered a Pocketbook Touch HD3 via good ereader. It did feel a bit dodgy because of sparse notifications. It took several days, maybe even a week before I got the notification of shipment...from China. Then a week before it arrived. But it did arrive, and it’s great. Which is good, because I suspect returning it wouldn’t be worth it, if it wasn’t.
I think it’s user expectations (my own). I’m so used to almost real time notifications from most online retailers that when a company doesn’t have that, it feels off somehow.
