When you by an eBook from Kobo, you can get it in one of two ways. One is ePub and the other is kepub. You get kepub from downloading with Kobo Desktop, Kobo app, or a Kobo Reader. ePub is gotten the normal way. ePub is what you should download as it's what's easiest to remove the DRM from.
