The most recent version of both. But, as I said, I've been using them for years, so I may be confused as to time frame.

Calibre stopped generating covers like that a looong time ago. And along the way, FFF's settings for generating covers changed also. There's a tab for "Calibre Cover" in FFF's settings dialog with a host of options.
