It's late, but I have to note the first European MLB games this past weekend. (Sorry about that, Victoria! Heh.) The attendance was the highest for a regular season game since 2003; the tickets were snapped up in less than half an hour when they went on sale last December.
According to the NY Times, part of the point was to give a real ballgame experience and the London hosts had to be educated in such niceties as hawkers in the stands. I can't say that 50 runs in a two-game series was exactly typical!
Next year, it'll be the Cards and the Cubs. The turf has been rolled up and put away until then.
